~ A milestone~

The first day of August
More than half the year has gone by
I’ve lived a quarter of a century
And what have I to show for it?

~ Ate reluctantly
~~ Played badly
~~~ Studied resentfully
~~~~ Prayed fearfully
~~~~~ Slept badly
~~~~~~ Worried incessantly
~~~~~~~ Thought belligerently
~~~~~~~~ Rebelled painfully
~~~~~~~~~ Admired secretly
~~~~~~~~~~ Touched tentatively
~~~~~~~~~~~ Rushed blindly
~~~~~~~~~~~~ Believed naively
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Obsessed wildly
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Acted impulsively
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Loved passionately
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Clutched possessively
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hurt bitterly
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cried unabashedly
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Regretted sorrowfully
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Despaired silently
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hated violently
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Behaved badly
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Laughed wantonly
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Discarded coldly
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Grieved brokenly
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Healed slowly
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Drifted drunkenly
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Worked feverishly
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rationalized finally
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Survived and still standing…… and preparing to soar again.

  1. This is so true… 🙂 When we look at each day nothing seems to change, but when we look back from a distance in time everything seems to have changed.
